Simple Baked Salmon & Pasta Recipe

Sometimes making dinner can be an overwhelming task, especially when you don't have the time or are just exhausted from the day's work. Well, here's a yummy simple recipe that is easy to make and takes no time at all or little effort. Hope you like it!

1-2 Salmon fillets
1-2 lemons
Salt and Pepper
1 tbsp Dill weed (fresh or dry)
1 tbsp Parsley (fresh or dry)
1 lb of veggie bowtie pasta
3 oz of frozen peas
1/4 cup parmesean cheese (shredded)
3 tbsp of butter
1-2 tbsp of olive oil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. While you wait for the oven, you can season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper, dill weed, and squeeze fresh lemon on top of each fillet making sure you've covered it all. Next, you will pop these suckers in the oven for about 16-20 minutes. For the pasta, you will grab a nice big ole pot and bring water to boil. Add salt and olive oil into the water, then boil the pasta al a dente, or for 12 minutes. For the last 3 minutes into the pasta, I pour the peas in there if you would like to boil them versus sticking them into the microwave. Which ever you prefer. Once the pasta is finito, you will add the oh so yummy butter, season it with salt and pepper and the parmesean, and the olive oil. Then mix, mix, mix. You are more than welcome to add more parmesean to your liking. Nothing wrong with that. Once the salmon is finished, just sprinkle some fresh or dry parsley on top. And that's it! Dinner is served :)

Super simple, super easy, and fast. Hope you enjoy! Please feel free to comment on any ideas on what you think may sound good to kick it up a notch. Happy clean eating!

The New Summer Sizzle Beachbody Fitness Program: PiYo

PiYo has finally made out for everyone to get their hands on! How exciting!! This new summer sizzle Beachbody fitness program is the talk of getting that toned, defined body that all of us dream of. Well it's time to turn those dreams into reality. Chalene Johnson, collaborated Pilates and Yoga and created a high intensity, low impact fitness program. She cranked up the speed to in order to incorporate a full-throttle cardio, strength, and flexibility training- all in one. This will help build muscle mass as well as burn fat at the same time. This is a hot ticket item and I plan on getting my hands on it for my post pregnancy workout. Will you join me? This will be a great opportunity to start something AMAZING for yourself :)

Here are a few success stories:

One of the incredible women who has experienced an amazing body transformation is Amy A., a mom of 3 who used PiYo and Shakeology to reshape her body and lose over 30 lbs!  Check out her amazing journey below in her own words:

I was 38 years old when I made the decision to dedicate my heart and soul to doing whatever it took to get my health and fitness back. I was the mother of 3 beautiful children, and I was not able to be the kind of mother I knew I wanted to be, or could be for them.  I had spent years in poor health, all the while my doctors said that I was “fine” according to their tests.  I knew I was NOT fine.  I had weekly migraines, digestive problems (indigestion, chronic yeast infections and constipation).  I was fatigued to the point of needing a daily nap to make it through the day.  I was overweight, I had skin rashes and I was mentally beaten down with these physical challenges. I knew that if I could simply start exercising, then I could start turning my health around.
I had met a friend, through our sons’ school who was a fitness instructor at the gym near where I lived, and she encouraged me to join the gym and start attending group fitness classes. When I was ready to join, I did just that.  One of the first classes I attended was PiYo, and I was HOOKED!  I love a good challenge, and PiYo was just the right kind of challenge for me – tough but not impossible to do.  After several months attending classes at the gym, I eventually joined a Beachbody challenge group, which got me started on drinking Shakeology and eating healthier consistently.  THAT is when my life truly changed. Combining the daily exercise with the proper diet and Shakeology helped me lose 36 pounds and initially drop 10 pant sizes. I since gained about 5-6 pounds back in lean muscle and LOVE my body shape!!!!
I have now been instructing for over a year, and I instruct PiYo, TurboKick and BodyPump.  Hands down, PiYo is the base that all my other exercises and formats build from.  By teaching and taking PiYo, I am able to build strength in both my large and small muscle groups, work on balance, get cardio without the impact of most cardio classes or running, and it’s easy for me and my students to pick up quickly.  Everyone that comes to my class are pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoy PiYo and how different it is from all other classes. They keep coming back for more, just as I did!  I’m so thankful for PiYo because it has been a format that is full circle for me.  It got me started and kept me going at the beginning my fitness journey, and now I am able to give back to others by helping them in their journey to health and fitness.

Former Athlete and New Mom Gets Sculpted with PiYo

Posted by BBSuccess
Katie H. is a busy mom of two who recaptured her athleticism and sculpted her lean and strong body with PiYo!  Hear what she has to say about this amazing workout from Chalene Johnson below:

I am a 35 year old stay-at-home-mom of 2 great kids and a part time fitness instructor.  I was a competitive swimmer growing up and I have always loved exercise.  After the birth of my daughter in 2008, I packed on some pounds and was ready to get back in shape.  I lost the remaining baby weight but I wanted more.  In 2010 I went to my first PiYo class and fell in love!  Since then I really have transformed my body and the way I look at exercise.  I love that I get a total body workout without having to use any equipment.  It is amazing what a great workout I can get using only my body weight.  I also love that I can make anything high or low impact throughout.  When I leave class I feel incredibly strong and ready to tackle the day.  That is such a great feeling!  The moves flow so well and are still challenging to me, even after three years of doing it.
This is the best part!  After about 3 months of consistent Piyo, I really started to notice a difference in my upper body and core.  There was much more muscle definition and toning.  Not only was it noticeable to me but all of my friends and family too.  My clothes started to fit better (most of them became too big), and I look better now than I ever have... and that is after the birth of my two kids.  I like how I am lean and muscular.  My legs are significantly stronger too, now that I do the entire workout high impact.  I don't think most women want to look "bulky" and Piyo is such a wonderful tool to lean out.  I hope to continue on this great path of health and I am just so happy to have found PiYo.  It is such a great workout!

"The Compound Effect" Part II

This book could have been easily read from start to finish in one sitting. However, I wanted to reflect on each chapter and absorb all that Darren Hardy was trying to implement. Even though it seemed like I was still anxious to learn the next part of "The Compound Effect" and how to be successful at it. So after finishing the book, I anxiously wanted to blog about the rest of the book and how empowering it was to just learn, learn, learn! But I sat there and was thinking, wait, how do I introduce all this insight to my readers? How can I influence others to get a copy of this book and read it right away! Not just to those who are looking for self help or self development, but for anyone. Well, let's just start with chapter 4, 'Momentum' or in Hardy's words, "Big Mo." It compares Big Mo to Law of Inertia, which we all know is: objects at rest tend to stay at rest unless acted on by an outside force; objects in motion tend to stay in motion, unless something stops their momentum. Right? So just like in life, if you are a couch potato then you most likely will stay a couch potato. And achievers- go getters- who applies a successful rhythm will continue to bust their butt and end up gaining more and more. This is so simple right? But what dominates our ability to have Big Mo in our lives? Well, that's easy...bad habits. Remember when we talked about this before? It's embedded in us. We acquire bad habits once we're born. The challenge is redirecting and teaching ourselves new habits by obtaining discipline and consistency.  "Adopting any change is the same way. You get started by taking one small step, one action at a time. Progress is slow, but once a newly formed habit has kicked in, Big Mo joins the party. Your success and results compound rapidly." (Hardy, 2010).

Alright, so that brings us to chapter 5, 'Influences'. Everyone knows how an influence can be detrimental to your decisions in life and how some influences can be miniscule. With such powerful external forces, we all need to recognize that we are 100 percent responsible for everything in our lives regardless of these influences. "Everyone is affected by three kinds of influences: input (what you feed your mind), associations (the people with whom you spend time), and environment (your surroundings). First things first, input; what are you really feeding our mind every day? Today, so many of us our consumed with technology, social media, and silly dramatized sitcoms that we feed into. Eek! I'm even guilty of this. I challenge you to slowly flush out the dirty water each day by steering clear from the garbage and junk we are accustomed to. Read something inspirational, seek the outdoors, listen to personal development CDs. Secondly, associations; those we depend on, hang around with. "Jim Rohn taught that we become the combined average of the five people we hang around the most." It's simple. If you surround yourself with negative people, you in turn will become negative. Vise versa. When you are enveloped with positive people, then you can expect to live your life in a positive notion. Lastly, environment. This is everything that surrounds you. Hardy explains,"Each and every incomplete thing in your life exerts a draining force on you, sucking the energy of accomplishment and success out of you as surely as a vampire stealing your blood." You have to clear the clutter. Each day think of one thing to complete. Write it down and keep a checklist so you can visualize your growth in every aspect of your life.

As a result, you begin to accelerate. You will soon recognize the little changes you've made that have greatly impacted you to be successful, luminous, prosperous, strong, worthy, unbeaten, and audacious! But don't stop there. Keep pushing yourself to improve, to help others improve and expand your limits. You are your biggest competitor. And knowing this will drive you further into greatness. My motivation and my drive is to first accomplish these things in my life so that I am able to help others be successful in theirs. So, anyone who is interested in reading this book let me know! I will gladly give 5 people a copy in order to jump start the beginning of your success in life.

"The Compound Effect"

Have you ever thought that self-improvement should be a daily ritual? Sometimes we even think that we are content with who we are and who we have chosen to become. However, psychological studies have revealed that 95 percent of everything we feel, think, do, and achieve is a result of a learned habit! (Darren Hardy). I'm half way through reading "The Compound Effect" and I'm intrigued. It defines self-improvement in various aspects of your life. Whether it's your health, your fitness, your finances, your success, or simply your life, this book is an amazing read to get started and to get enlightened.

Darren speaks of uprooting bad habits and that will power alone won't cut it. Huh? That's pretty deep right? He explains, "Forget about willpower. It's time for why-power. Your choices are only meaningful when you connect them to your desires and dreams. The wisest and most motivating choices are the ones aligned with that which you identify as your purpose, your core self, and your highest values. You've got to want something, and know why you want it, or you'll end up giving up to easily." Crazy right? So, after reading this chapter I often thought of what my 'why-power' is in becoming a Beach Body coach. Well there are multiple reasons. First, I needed to find something that I could potentially make extra income without steering away from what I actually miss doing. Second, I wanted to improve my self fitness and health during my last months of pregnancy as well as set myself up to continue that route and turn it into a habit. Thirdly, I have always wanted to be involved in helping others with their fitness and health struggles and goals. Then, suddenly through co-workers I hear about this amazing opportunity in being a beach body coach that their wives were doing to make extra income for their families. Hint, hint...it was like a sign from God!

So my motivation started to kick in and I started to dig further into it. Sure there were doubts, there are plenty of blogs, YouTube videos, and sites on the internet that proclaim being a Beach body coach is a scam, but why not find out for yourself. "What motivates you is the ignition to your passion, the source for your enthusiasm, and the fuel of your persistence." Anything is possible! I did my research, I emailed other coaches who have been extremely successful. So far every day I have been engaged in my Beach body coach apprenticeship program. It's been a day to day habit that I love checking into to learn more, to be better, to hook others into this amazing company that will help you get fit and get healthy through challenge groups. I find it comforting that you're in this closed group on FB and have all these people you just met that support you and encourage you every single day. You are easily aware that you're not in it alone and that you have the essential tools to become successful in your financial life, your health and fitness, and your self-improvement. And the best part about it all is that you get to share all of that with others and to help them get their jumpstart.

This book has given me fundamental tools to identify the things I need to improve as well as change in my life. Sure, it won't happen over night, but nothing ever does. It will take small steps. It will take consistency, determination, hard work, and dedication, but this is what it takes to accomplish any goal you set right? If you're ready to do the same, and are ready to change, to be better than you were yesterday then take a chance. Join my challenge groups! Contact me and let's set your goals, identify your why-power,  and be empowered in your life!

"We can all take back control by not blaming chance, fate, or anyone else for our outcomes. It's within our ability to cause everything to change. Rather than letting past hurtful experiences sap our energy and sabotage our success, we can use them to fuel positive, constructive change."

P90X: Reunited

It's been tough to get up and get moving this past week. With being 35 weeks pregnant, catching an annoying cold, swollen feet, a huge belly, how can I motivate myself to want to do anything? I have to WANT it. That's the key factor. We live in a world where we expect things to just come to us. We look for the next best cheat diet, that one 'quick fix'. But does it really benefit us in the end? We get excited because we hear this and that, so we amplify those rumors and try it ourselves. Only to find out, a month or two later, we're back to ground zero.

Here's a different challenge. A fitness program that anyone can commit to. I've done it before and I can do it again. P90X here I come. Even though I'm pregnant and will be in labor and delivery in a month, I know I can at least get off my feet and start today. Sure I'll have my struggles, I will have to modify my work out, but hey no one is going to stop me except me. So what will you decide?

Success is only achieved by those who are consistent in their goals, their dreams, and their drive to WANT it. Time is what makes the difference between someone who just wants it quick and fast, or someone who actually puts in the hard work every day, and expects nothing short of a miracle. Let's go back to the basic fundamentals. Jump start your life by implementing good habits, discipline, and hard work with small steps.

Push yourself. No one is going to do it for you. Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. Time will pass by anyway. Seize every opportunity that will challenge you. You are capable of anything! Do your best, and forget the rest.

If you need the encouragement, the motivation, message me! I will help you get started. I will be your coach, your motivator, your trainer, your encourager, your light at the end of the tunnel. Join my challenge group, ask me about Beach Body fitness groups, and the nutritional benefits of Shakeology. Improve your health and fitness today!

What is a challenge group?

Aloha everyone! Have you ever felt alone or discouraged in your recent fitness loss goal or healthy diet? Have you ever been that person to try every diet out there and are still stuck in a yo-yo weight loss battle? Would you like to find something more challenging, more motivating, and have undivided support as well as accountability? Then a challenge group is what you need!

As a Beach Body Coach, I provide challenge groups that involve a 30/60/90 day group. It is all done through a closed online Facebook support group. So, only the members of the group can see what is being posted. Valuable information is provided by me, your Beach Body Coach, that includes planning meals, providing recipes, snack ideas, tips, motivation, fitness & health benefits, and holding you accountable. Additionally, you will be required to replace One meal a day with a nutritional supplement of Shakeology. This is supercharged with ingredients that will give you natural energy, curbs cravings, and will help keep you full for at least 3 hours. Most importantly, we will plan and customize your health and fitness goals, keep a logged journal of your progress, as well as take visual photos to see your improvements throughout the challenge. Every day I will challenge and encourage you by posting daily inspiration and the reasons why fitness is important. You are responsible for checking in, reading what is posted, and engaging in how you feel about your workouts and meal planning; as well as any questions you may have. Lastly, we will discuss how to address emotional eating, eating out at restaurants, how to handle temptations, cheat meals, body image and more!

This is a great way to interact with other challengers who will not only support you but are also in it with you. Together we can all significantly motivate and empower one another, as well as inspire each other to keep pushing forward. Anyone is capable of making a change, it's up to you to make that difference today! It is never too late!

So set your calenders and get ready to get fit: June 23rd is the day we start our amazing challenge group. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, and how to get started. Act now because it books fast! Do you have what it takes?!?
